Meet the KaraTech & Island Computers Team

Nathan Childs, General Manager

At the helm since 2001, Nathan has led Island Computers in becoming Wilmington's "Little Computer Shop" that locals have trusted.

His eclectic style and welcoming demeanor have truly been an impact in providing a friendly and helpful neighborhood atmosphere. Oh, and by the way, he can fix stuff too! Nathan's expertise lies in physical laptop repair. Broken screen? He's got your back. Power jack on the fritz? Nathan's got you covered. Motherboard shot (like a literal gunshot hole)?... If they make a replacement, he can install it. Other than saving laptops, Nathan is an amateur motor-head and turns a wrench once in a while.

William Hays, Repair Technician

William has been taking apart electronics ever since his mother caught him taking apart her appliances to see how they work. Spending time in the arcades of old since a child, he really got into gaming once his parents bought him an original Nintendo as a bribe to clean his room.

Since then, he has pushed his love for gaming and electronics together into PC gaming, building rigs and researching the latest tech news. In his spare time (what little exists) you will find him watching Japanese animation, dabbling in 3-D printing or reading sci-fi and fantasy novels. If you want to know about retro game systems or obscure trivia, William is likely your guy.

TJ Bradley, Repair Technician

TJ's been a gamer for almost his entire life. Starting on a GameCube at 5-years-old, he then discovered gaming systems such as the PS2 and Xbox 360, and eventually found himself in the world of PC gaming.

From there, he fell in love with computer hardware and taught himself all about the ins and outs of PCs, which eventually landed him a job here at Island Computers in 2018. TJ regularly broadcasts himself playing video games live on the internet to complete strangers. Having that experience in broadcasting, he's a great conversationalist. Even if you think you can't describe an issue that your computer is having, you can rest assured that he'll help you talk him through what's wrong so he and the rest of the staff can get your computer repaired ASAP.

If you happen to speak to him at the shop, ask to see his socks! We promise you won't be disappointed.
